The team at Paititi Institute feels that your privacy is important, so we’d like you to understand when and why we record your information, and make it clear that we do not share your personal information with anyone else. We collect information from you when you register on our site, make a purchase for a retreat or other Paititi Institute products, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey, or fill out a form. When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name, contact information including email address, mailing address and delivery information, phone number or credit card information, or birth data, as relevant to the services we provide. You may, however, visit our site anonymously
What do we use this information for?
We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a service, and in particular for the following reasons:
For Internal record keeping.
To make our services more relevant and useful to you.
We may periodically send promotional emails about upcoming events, offers or other information which we think you may find interesting.
To improve customer service. (Your information helps us to more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs.)
We may use the information to customize features of our site, according to your interests.
To handle donations and retreat registrations, which are completed on our partners’ own secure platforms rather than on this site.
To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature.

All recorded sessions during workshops and retreats are optional. They are accessible only to participants of those events and are otherwise confidential.
Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent. The email address you provide may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order, in addition to receiving occasional news, updates, related product or service information, and to connect with you via social media, etc.(Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.)
How do we protect your information?
We take people's security very seriously. The whole site is served over encrypted connections, and we implement a variety of measures to keep your personal information safe when you submit it to us. Payments are not processed on this website: donations are completed on Zeffy and retreat registrations on Retreat Guru, both on their own secure systems, so your card details are never sent to us and we do not store them.
Do we use cookies?
Only if you agree to them. The first time you visit we ask, and until you accept, no analytics cookies are set and nothing about your visit is measured. The site works exactly the same either way. You can change your answer whenever you like through the Cookie Settings link at the foot of every page.
If you accept, we use Google Analytics to understand which pages people find useful: how many visitors a page receives, which links they follow, and roughly which country they are reading from. We use this to improve the site. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not sell it or share it.
One small record is kept either way — your answer to the cookie question itself, stored in your own browser so that we do not ask again on every page. It holds nothing but that answer, and clearing your browsing data removes it.
Some parts of our site are provided by others, and those may set their own cookies once you use them: Retreat Guru for retreat listings and registration, Zeffy for donations, JotForm for application forms, and YouTube for embedded videos. The videos are embedded in privacy‑enhanced mode, which sets no cookie until you press play. Each of these services has its own privacy policy.
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or other’s rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.As part of the California Online Privacy Protection Act, all users of our site may make any changes to their information at anytime by managing their subscription.
Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.
